Al
passed away at home on Camano Island at 3:48 in the
afternoon of January 14, 2005 in the company of family
and friends. He was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis
around 1997. Just before requiring dialysis, he received
a kidney transplant from his dear friend and former
S.S.C.C. colleague, Vicky Stover-Jacobsen, in October,
2002. Last April he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins
lymphoma. He was an excellent father and husband to
his wife Mary and father to sons, Scott age 18 and
William age 14. he was an instructor in the Aviation
Maintenance Technology Program at South Seattle Community
College where he worked tirelessly to improve and
promote the aviation program. He was also an FAA examiner,
authorized inspector and private pilot. Al spent countless
hours helping his sons with their hobbies and help
Scott peruse his dream of becoming a race car driver. |
